Friday

Another day on, went to Liberty last night and hads a good time with all the girls, managed to restrain my spending to two balls of sock yarn one ball of rowans ne cotton rope (not to be used for knitting but for making Poi) and two meteres of Liberty Fabric which was on sale and half price which is their traditional paisley print in pinks and green.
Although I promised myself that I wouldn't cast on anymore projects before the show I couldn't resist casting on my socks (see photo above) I'm using Jill Vosbergs toe up short row sock pattern but I think I am going to take sues advice about doing both socks together so when I have finished the toe on this sock then I will cast on the second sock and do those which may mean I actually complete a pair of socks.
Color on color isn't to bad still only the I cords and buttons to do hopefully I will complete it by Saturday for the dye workshop, oh suddenly realised thats tomorrow oh well don't think it will be finished.
Oh well I'm off to sainsburys for all my resources for tomorrow.

Another Day

52 creative thread packs complete hooray..... only 38 to go. Then I get to start on the scarf kits, actually its not that bad I just have to stop myself from keeping any as I see them I keep thinking I could just knock up a quick scarf with that collection, in fact trying not to start any new knitting until the show is organised, really want to try and knit a cuff to cuff toddlers jacket in the style of the color on color scarf, but I'm being good, I might get a chance to do a bit of dying for the project.
The best news of the week was that Robins son and wife brought down our bed from Hatfield and for the first time since I moved back actually had a full nights sleep in fact had a straight nine hours look worse for it but hey given another night the bags under my eyes may look less loke suitcases.

creative threads Posted by Hello

Craft Fair Maddness

Ok was has Yvonne got me into three weeks to go till our first venture for a stand at the International Fair at Alexander Palace plus we are doing a knit and Relax area just in case we find ourselves with nothing to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So yesterday atarted on the creative threads pack, which hopefully if I can get the photo to load you will see one with one of the items I am knotting as a sample using the creative thread pack as a fringe. Unfortunately I think I am going to run out of yarn before I finish the sample so there may be a frogging yet and a bag instead of a scarf maybe on the needles.
Kathryn has taken one of my poorly written patterns (I even forgot to put on how many stiches to cast on ) home to knit, proof read and rewrite so I owe her big thanks for that and for all of those who have volunteered to help us out over the weekend with their wonderful teaching skills.

Aaaaagggghhhhh

This computer is driving me insane ampngst other things, I can't access any of my e-mail accounts so apologies to anyone who is trying to contact me that way I will catch up with you.
My bed is coming tomorrow fingers crossed so still clearing room for it, I keep finding more yarn its scarey, also it means I have to stop myself casting new projects on so I have hidden all my needles at the studio although I really need to cast this toddlers cardigan on, not sure what pattern yet can't find anything challenging enough!!! Although I have brought a pack of the cream Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino so any suggestions greatly recieved.

Fairisle section of color on color Posted by Hello

Finally a photo

I think I've actually managed to add a photo, more to follow if I can manage it again I'll try and put some more of the color on color scarf up.
I had a nice evening with everyone at Liberty on an unofficial night, I took along my pacific pullover fromhttp://www.justonemorerow.com from Jill Vosberg it has taken me about six months to get it this far down to my lack of knitting time rather than the pattern (which is wonderful, great for us ample ladies) so have only completed the back so far.
I have also just spent about an hour on MSN with Robins grand daughter which is lovely and makes me not so far from home.
I'm hoping the picture I have loaded is the first fairisle section of color on color which for me is the favourite pice of the whole scarf. As we speak the whole scarf except some of the I-Cords is sitting getting blocked pinned to my studio floor so fingers crossed for tomorrow morning.

dye lots Posted by Hello

A new start

I know its been a while but my partner Robin deteriated a rapid speed after a fall on October 13th last year so I upped sticks and moved to Hatfield to spend my time with him. He passed away on the 18th of December and we had a wonderful service for him on the 23rd with all his family and friends.
Although its still difficult with the help of my friends I am finding a way to get back into the swing of things, they are all very patient and I owe them all lots.
Knitting wise I started the color on color Scarf from the scarf style book as my first challenge mostly I think to keep me occupied so I started by dying all the yarn myself using the DK from texure yarns.

Monday

I have had a long weekend helping out at the knit and relax at Alexander Palace at the Knitting and Stiching Show with Yvonne and lots of others. Thursday and Friday manic as normal with all the visiting school parties and hundreds of people wanting to learn to knit all at once but the resulting enthusiasm from all the students make it all worthwhile.
Of course had a little time to shop, its amazing how much you can spend in such a short time further details to follow.

Robins jumper is growing and my Charlottes web shawl is on its third colour and row 60. Trying not to buy any yarn on yarnworld but not sure how long I'll hold out..........

Wednesday

I recieved my second parcel from Get Knitted today, they are such a great compny always next day delivery when in stock and beautifully packaged.
I cast on my Charlottes web shawl and made a mistake by the fifteenth row but have surrendered to the fact that there are going to be a few as it is for me couldn't face frogging it and starting again. Also managed to knit a couple more inches of Robins jumper and a couple of inches on my comission shawl.

Friday

Almost completed the back rib section of the jumper that has come from the sweater wizard programme for Robin.
I decided to do it in Jaeger Shetland which I purchased at Liberty's on Thursday and promptly cast on the 103 stiches on the journey home.
The yarn is beautifully soft and the completed garment is going to be very warm.
So fingers crossed that I will complete it for Christmas so at least he gets some wear out of it this winter.
